"Worked for me even though it said it wouldn't!"
Version: Office 2010 Trial Extender 126.96.36.199
--Extended my 2 month free trial by another 2 months with no hassle!
Doesn't work on all versions, and it's hard to tell for sure which ones those are. The publisher states clearly on the site's description that it doesn't work for the 60 day free trial versions or activated copies, but it does for some of us. For others that it is supposed to work for it doesn't always. Go figure. But, it is free, so it's still worthwhile!
I read on the publisher's comment board that some people couldn't get to work for them, or that when they went to run it that it would tell them they had already used up their 5 rearms. This was not a problem for me, and after I did my first rearm it is still offering to let me do so when I start up the program-- so I am guessing when my trial period is up again, I will find out
It is also posted by the publisher that it will not work on either the 60-day free trial versions downloaded from the MSOffice site or activated copies. Mine was both, but it rearmed it in mere seconds without hesitation. When I started Office back up, it had me reactivate, it and it did so for another 2 month period. The program tells me to rearm in 30 days, but I believe that is referring to the initial 30 day trial period the program was intended for, so I am just going to wait 2 months.
The publisher touts that this app will extend your free trial to six months (180 days). Theoretically, if it continues to run this smoothly, it will actually extend the 2 month free trial download to a year!
The only complaints I have seen in were in regards to whether or not this program works for some people, and nothing about how it caused any problems elsewhere in their system. So, if you go in knowing that it just may not work on some versions -and that throwing a hissy fit over how this totally free download, that warns you that this might happen with some versions, is either a scam or somehow totally screwing you (out of being able to scam more free trial time yourself) doesn't -- then you can walk away either pleasantly surprised like I was or- through the combined time it takes to download, install, run, and then uninstall the program- chalk it up to having wasted a whole 5-10 minutes of your life. It's definitely worth a shot!
