• Defragmentation and "used space" increase with each use

  It has a lot of options.

  Cons

  The first time I analyzed my drive, it was at 7% fragmentation. At the end of the first defragmentation, it was at 13%. At the end of my second defragmentation, it was at 25%. At the end of my fourth defragmentation it was at 30%. Also, the used space on the hard drive continues to increase with every fragmentation. After the fourth defragmentation, 'used space' on my hard drive has increased at least 2 GB. I've researched their blog and have made the recommended adjustment to settings. It did not help.

  Pros

  Used this on multiple machines running Win 7, Win Pro, Vista and now Win 10. Never had any problems: I read the instructions and played with the settings till I found ones that worked.

  None I've seen.

  Tried free defraggers from others but none worked as well as Defraggler. If you don't read the instructions and adjust the setting(s) for your particular machine then you have no one to blame but yourself(BTW, I have 2.5 TB on 3 internal drives plus 3 external HD's with another 400 GB of storage). If I can update programs/defrag once or twice a week on my desktop PLUS the laptop plus my wife's machine (with 1 TB of storage) then this program can't be that hard to use! Wish I'd found this utility back when I had Win 2000 Pro and was trying to use the Windows defragger(which kept crashing the machine..!). Get it, take the time to read the instructions, adjust the settings and then enjoy it.

  A lot of interesting features built into one program.

  Cons

  Used on a 71GB netbook drive, it would never reset to 0% after a defrag. It continually showed the same fragmentation before and after, and on the next analysis. Figuring it might need a boot time defrag to sort that out, I found it took forever. Having left it to get on with it while I went off and did something else, I came back after two and a half hours to see it had only completed 50%. That was where I stopped it and uninstalled it.

• Excellant Defragmentation Program

  Pros

  Defraggler is a user friendly defragmentation program. It comes packed with alot of options for your defragmentation needs and its better and faster then most paid defragmentation programs. There is a pay version but its only if you want to support it. All features are completely free. I use it regularly with ccleaner for good PC health with no problem.

  Cons

  Id be honest if there was a con but I havent noticed any problems to date. Its been rather hassle free for the most part.

  Summary

  A fast and friendly defragmentation program with tons of options and control that comes with it. COmbine it with ccleaner for overall hassle free PC health.

  i really dont believe there are any pros. it doesnt work on different systems

  it's simply a waste of my time cos when it hits 70% it aborts and that's it.

  it use to work fantastic until it started to abort at 70% so i thought i would check different fforums and chats and the 3-4 people i told to download it have the same problem. if they would simply fix it , which they wont , i believe it will one day be gone.

• Could Have Been a Great Defrag Program!

  Very user-friendly screens. Easy to use. Provides a high level of information.

  Cons

  BUT . . . it does not complete the defrag process, rendering it (IMHO) useless. If it is provided free, then the free version should at a minimum complete the process. I continually receive the message "Defrag Aborted. Some files were not defragmented. This operation cannot be done." So, useless. A free version should as a minimum complete the process. Perhaps giving us "cheapos" less features than the paid version . . . so, thumbs down on this highly rated product!

• it's not finishing the defrag

  Pros

  actually i'll use the fact that i told friends about defraggler and their having the same problem as myself. when it is almost done ( approx. 70% ) it aborts and that's that. their is no support for it unless you purchase the product from Filehippo's site or Piriform and " just maybe " others

  it runs perfectly and used to end up finished , but now friends and myself are getting the abort when it hits 70% always. i dont know why. the MSN defragmenter which came in already downloaded , but it NEVER TELLS YOU THAT you should defrag this amount or however it's said. once again i have friends that are having the same problem. i read what they sent into forums , MSN help , ect. and it's almost identical to my wording as their's. help !!!!

• Tells how bad you've fragged

  Pros

  You can watch the defrag function graphically or, as I prefer, you can watch how many files and how many fragments are left. You can tell how often you need to defrag.

  Cons

  The graphic part has better details, but that is hard to follow.

  Summary

  I can tell the condition of my system by the way they do it. It's not just a blinking dot show. For example, I found out that system upgrades were badly fragged, which accounted for slowness after downloading.
