We found this freeware electronic diary--straightforward and designed with only the necessary functions--almost ideal for quickly jotting down your daily impressions. iDailyDiary has an intuitive and handy interface that reproduces as exactly as possible a paper notebook. You can perform any operation in several ways. For example, you can select the date by using the calendar, by clicking the Next/Previous buttons, or by accessing the time line at the bottom of the interface. iDailyDiary supports rich-text formatting such as various fonts, highlighting, images, and links to Web sites and other diary pages. To publish your notes on the Web, just export them in HTML. Unfortunately, iDailyDiary only exports pages one by one, but multiple-page exporting should be coming soon. You can hide the diary from prying eyes with a password. Home users who want to log without a blog should check out this program.Publisher's description
From Splinterware :iDailyDiary has been designed around a simple page-for-a-day diary. Your diary can contain a mixture of pictures and formatted text. Image files of various types are supported, including bitmaps, JPEGs, icons, and even animated GIFs. Add new page tabs and rename them whatever you wish to help get your life organized. In addition to the calendar on the top toolbar, you have a month-view calendar bar at the bottom of your diary.
Features include the ability to create and open as many diaries as you wish; diary files that are fully encrypted and password-protected; the ability to search the entire diary for matching entries; the ability to insert clickable hotlinks, URLs, and links to other diary pages; and the ability to save diary pages to HTML to publish to Web. Version 3.41 includes additional language files and improved support for carrying your diary on a USB stick.

Version: iDailyDiary 3.41
Pros: No matter how many times I try other diaries and think I have something good, none of them top this one, as far as being free. This diary allows pictures in every entry, an unlimited number of page tabs for each entry, and many ways to tweak the look and feel with font and background colors. You can import, export, back up, along with many other features that you will find useful. I'm tempted to buy the professional version that adds other features, like smileys. :) It's very stable and password protected, and allows for multi diaries. You can't go wrong, and you won't be disappointed!

"Best of it's type for my use"
Pros: Simple to import RTF files. Great search feature. Straightforward. Creates no problems for my PC. Can access different diaries for different purposes (I use 2). Accomplishes everything I need from a diary/journal with the least amount of effort. A pleasure to use for the last couple of years. Navigation is quick. Free.
Cons: Nothing.

Version: iDailyDiary 3.41
Pros: It's a journal a daily planner a calender, it's simple. What you see is what you get. There are enough additions to keep me organized, for different needs, and not alot of extra applications and buttons. Again, simple... for my needs.

Version: iDailyDiary 3.41
Pros: I found this program to have everything I wanted plus a lot more!!! I like how I can introduce different sections to my diary (thus keeping different types of diaries in one book). A DEFINITELY EXCELLENT download.
