eClicker is a personal response system that allows teachers to poll their class during a lesson. It provides real time feedback so that teachers can be sure their messages are being received. Developed for smartphones, netbooks, and laptops, eClicker leverages the hardware already in the hands of many students and thus provides a low cost alternative to the expensive infrared based systems on the market. All you need to get started is the eClicker Host application, a few Wi-Fi enabled devices with a web browser, and a Wi-Fi network.

eClicker is bringing classrooms into the future and making yawning, drooling, daydreaming students a thing of the past. The eClicker system is made up of of two parts: the host and the client(s). The teachers use the host application to enter the questions and begin the polling. The students join the host as a client using any Wi-Fi enabled device with a web browser (e.g. smartphone, netbook, or laptop). The host application is available for teachers to download on the iTunes App Store. There is no software needed for students to participate as a client. Students simply enter the hosts address in their web browser and they are ready to go. Additionally, there is a free client application available for the iPhone on the App Store that speeds up the process of finding the host on the network.
