"Great Dictionary / Thesaurus"
Version: WordWeb 4.5a
Pros
A suprisingly thorough Dictionary, and quite sufficient Thesarus make this a must have. I like the format and size (small) of the program. It is the preferred Dictionary on my laptop - I check with WordWeb 4.5 first and then go online only if absolutely necessary - which is very infrequent.

"Single most-useful program I have ever downloaded"
Version: WordWeb 4.5a
Pros
I positively love WordWeb. I'm always nervous about misspelling words and WordWeb is a simple way for me to check. Sure, you can look up anything in an online dictionary, but who wants to take the time to do that when you're in the middle of instant messaging a person? I like that all I have to do is double click the word and then click the WordWeb icon and that's it. If I misspell something it will offer suggestions or list the words closest to the spelling, and if I've got it right it will give me options for synonyms and antonyms, among other things, for those moments when I've forgotten the word I want to use.
Cons
The only problem I've ever had, and I have no idea if this is the fault of my computer or WordWeb, is that sometimes when I close the WordWeb window after I've got my word, it will close the program entirely and the icon will vanish from the system tray and then I have to open it again from the programs list if I need it. That's just a minor annoyance though.

"no wonder people use it"
Version: WordWeb 4.5a
Pros
how does they do it? adding over 100,000 word definition plus tons of extra synonyms, proper nouns, pronunciations. you will love the instant hotkey search, get details instanly without opening windows and close them constantly. most importantly, it doesn't require internet connection, a killer feature for those offline writers. it's not hard to use and will come in real handy for learning words.
Cons
could have some more advanced feature and improved interface, but its just a minor suggestion, no complains what so ever.

"Very handy and useful"
Version: WordWeb 4.5a
Pros
This has an extensive dictionary and is very quick and easy to use. Why waste your time buying a dictionary or thesaurus when this is so quick and easy to use and will probably have the word you require?!
Cons
The definitions are not as thorough as those you find in a proper dictionary, but you still get the meaning of the word and in the majority of cases it will make things easier.

"ABSOLUTE BRILLIANCE for free"
Version: WordWeb 4.5a
Pros
I am not an academic, but this small handy unobtrusive tool made it possible to write my masters papers with ease. It is a must for second language speakers and for those who like to write novels, documents/letter/emails with rich wording, ect. Works from almost any language program. Use: highlight the word you like to change and press the shortcut keys: CTR - ALT- W and wallah a sea of possibilities. The developer should get a medal or a reserved spot in heaven.
Cons
No other languages then English. More words need to be added and some words need updating.

"This you got to have"
Version: WordWeb 4.5a
Pros
Ever been stuck for a word or needed to check a spelling? This is why I downloaded this program down three years ago and I still use it about everyday. Nothing is more handy especially if you put this on a hot key! Then it's always at your fingertips and it doesn't slow down your progress because it's such a light program. Yet has a very useful list of words. I've never lacked for much more. Even though I have MicoOffice I still prefer to use this for word looking up. One of the great programs.
Cons
Only suggestion Id make is make some skins for it or update the look. Nothing wrong with the look but it's been the same for at least three years that I've known it.

"Comprehensive word tool with unique features for fast, excellent results."
Version: WordWeb 4.5a
Pros
It offers search capabilities I haven't seen anywhere else in a manner that provides information
from every conceivable angle.
It offers a menu of search tools such as definition/ grammar categories, listing of words that appear alphabetically before and after so no words are overlooked.
The convenient tray position can't be beat for quick research.
I hesitated to give it five stars because I felt they'd stop providing a free version but the fact is it's really that good.
