CNET Editors' review
This isn't the most feature-rich application, but it does offer a straightforward approach to creating and navigating virtual desktops. You can access VividDesktop's limited menu from the system-tray icon. Only two desktops are offered initially, but you can easily add more. Switch desktops using the menu or hot keys, though you'll get a bug when creating new hot keys. Only two tabs are offered for desktop settings, and one sets up the hot key. Default hot keys are assigned for the first two desktops, but the tab isn't available for new ones. You'll need to view the tab while one of the initial desktops is selected, then switch to the desktop you want to create the shortcut for. Check the box to indicate the desktop has a hot key, and then you can assign the desired keys to it. Aside from the hot key quirk, this freeware application is very simple to use and serves as a nice and inexpensive desktop manager.Publisher's Description

"Too few features to make it usable"
Version: VividDesktop 1
Pros
Very simple interface
Switching between desktops is pretty fast1
SeemsCons
No documentation, very few hints in the UI.
Too few features. It seems you cannot move windows from one desktop to another.
All WinAmp (classic skin) windows except the main window are sticky and appear on every desktop.Summary
Needs more features!
Hm, when I quit the program (to uninstall), it asked me what to do with the windows on other desktops. That's good usability!

I just wanted to add that what VividDesktop does do, it does well. It looked like stable software.
I just installed multiDesk and this is the app I've been looking for. -

"Useless"
Version: VividDesktop 1
Cons
I'm used to working with multi-desktop window managers in UNIX, but I just couldn't make out what VividDesktop has to offer. After install & reboot it just dumped a few icons in the system tray. No trace of help or information. No visible difference between any of the desktops I configured: what I changed in one also affected all the others. Finally used its one useful function: the uninstall button.
