Create and print complete checks from VersaCheck Presto or directly from your QuickBooks, Quicken and Peachtree program using inexpensive blank check paper. Print from multiple bank accounts using one check stock. One time installation and setup of the VersaCheck Presto software is quick, easy, and works with any printer. This version is free to try and will print 'Void' on your checks. When asked for a Validation Code during installation simply click Cancel and then open the program icon from your desktop. To eventually remove 'Void' from your checks and continue using the software for free, simply follow the Account Validation instructions, purchase any VersaCheck Security Check Refill pack and enter the included Validation Code.

Pros
If you have Versacheck (the non X-version) DO NOT UPGRADE!!! That program worked as described.
Cons
The new X1 version requires this DNA non-sense that no other vendor requires. This is only a problem that G7 had, they got sued for it and now they are trying to convince customers that they all need this DNA verification. It is not true!
Check drafts capability are GONE in the new version.Summary
The old Versacheck software used to work great. I just changed my laptop, had to upgrade versions and now I'm stuck without the functionality I had. I already had a bad experience with their sales people. It seems that their bad attitude is already part of their company culture. Lia effectively dismissed me and dissed me. I would recommend people to look elsewhere. I'm now printing checks with CheckSoft from Avanquest.

"One way street"

They could have a great product if their sales department was helpful and they had ink that didn't clog the printer!
Cons
Sales and Customer Service - wait they would have to have it to be a con! Their ink products are horrible and clogged the printer I purchased so I returned it (with a RMA). I then purchased a toner cartridge (over $150) and it worked great. However, they changed their 'approvals' and I ran out of approved checks to print. When I contacted sales to get 'authorized' they said I had to pay for the printer I returned. I probably have over 1,000 available prints (based on toner use) and can't use it. :(
Summary
You will be held hostage by this company - find an alternative method or company. Don't be fooled by a lower price for VersaCheck - in the long run it is NOT worth it.

Will charge you $25 if you validate too soon and not allow them to withdrawal 1 cent from your account.
Customer service is RUDE and TERRIBLE. Will not work with you.
I was charge $25 for validating too soon. I wrote a check using the software. When they tried to withdrawal 1 cent, my bank rejected it and they froze all my accounts for check printing.Summary
I have never had a worse experience with customer service. They do not care about customer care and their fees are insane.

BBB rating of F - look it up. Multiple blog sites are consistently warning customers to stay away. Product has multiple problems. Cust service argues and talks in circles until you give up. They will not stand behind product after 30 days and their Ink voids the warranty of the HP printers they sell according to HP. There are multiple suits against the parent and they were issued contempt of court decree this year. You must give confidential info . You cannot trust a company like this

BUYER Beware and do your reesearch - You will not buy after your do the research. save your money but especially save the aggravation and time to resolve the problems. It is cheaper to buy checks than use this product./

Cons
You not only have to purchase the software, you have to allow a third party information/access to your bank accounts (which VersaCheck downplays by saying that they don't get any more than what is on the face of the check -- not true. This third party company then charges you for additional "validation" procedures that you have no option to refuse. If you don't agree to the purchase, they can't validate your account, and then you can't print checks from VersaCheck.
Summary
Yes - VersaCheck apparently got sued. They tell you that the reasons for all of the changes are pursuant to a Court Order affecting all check writing software - although in the past three days, I have researched and tried no less than four different types of software (some which are incredibly expensive, and some which are only $19.99) and NONE of them have the validation process requirement. It is unfortunate that more people don't do their research to find out that this validation process is not required of all companies - apprently, it is only VersaCheck who has this restriction placed on them by the Federal Government.

The software works as it says. Checks are created and printed. What is funny is how the other comments are upset because they have to enter a code to remove the VOID. This is mentioned in the summary of the product: "To eventually remove 'Void' from your checks and continue using the software for free, simply follow the Account Validation instructions, purchase any VersaCheck Security Check Refill pack and enter the included Validation Code".
A box of checks from Amazon is about $19.99 for 250 one up checks or for 750 three up checks. That is .08 cents per check or .03 cents. Not bad for a program that lets you add your own logos and pictures for a background on the check. It is FREE software just like all the other Free software out there, you have to pay something eventually to use it. This software works with QB easily which prints the bank code line missing in the QB software. Play with this version to see if it works for you then go get checks to use it.Cons
If you read the description provided there are no surprises as it tells you the software will print VOID until you purchase checks. This is a sample of the program, use it as such.
Summary
I would suggest downloading the program and using it even though it prints VOID on the checks. See if it fills your needs then go and get a $19.99 box of checks. If you want to buy checks from a company that prints check cheaper then you are missing the point of this software which allows you to customize the check in anyway you want. Meaning you are not limited to the styles available from the printer as you are the printer.
Product is not bad if you read the description and understand what you are downloading.
You have to verify your account through gValidate. Once again read what the site says about this then decide if you want to submit and use the software. -

If you plan to use VersaCHeck for QUickbooks, forget it unless you want to get trapped into buying their overpriced check stock and toner. If you don't buy their stock and toner, you will have to pay a licensing fee for each check you write --- something that wasn't required for older versions and something that isn't fairly disclosed on the box. It has always been a marketing scam -- making you jump accept or refuse multiple sales offers and warning you of the nightmares if you don't use VersaCheck's "genuine" check stock and toner. Bull. The only nightmare is being forced to choose overpriced supplies or face the incredible waste using VersaCheck. I switched to MultiChax and for a hundred bucks never looked back. It handles my multiple accounts without misleading marketing of supplies.

If you buy it, you may want to secure a prescription for Xanax.
