From Zabaware :Ultra Hal Assistant is an artificial intelligence conversation simulator. It is capable of being your digital secretary and companion. Talk to Hal in natural English language and Hal will speak back to you. Hal has a huge conversational database and will discuss anything. Hal speaks out loud to you in one of many high quality voices and has several 3D animated characters to choose from. Hal will learn from every sentence that you tell it.
Version 6.1.46 improves AI, adds ability to read and learn from text files or clipboard using the brain editor, and fullly compatibile with Windows Vista.

Version: Ultra Hal Assistant 6.1.46
Pros: Ultra Hal Assistant is a lot of fun to work with. The program "learns" from the things you tell it. For example, if you tell it you are male, it will remember that. If you tell it what your favorite color is, it will remember that. Talk or type to it and it will attempt to respond in kind. You can teach it a lot of information using the Brain Editor in order to make conversations more topical.
Cons: This program is listed as PIM software, but it doesn't do a very good job of it. In my experience it screws up dates or the subject of an event get messed up. This program is more a toy than anything useful in terms of business application. The calendar isn't iCal compatible. In fact, you can't do any kind of information import. To be a useful PIM app, it at least has to do that much.
Don't get me wrong. I loved this program enough to pay for the full version (highly recommended), But I would never use it for anything important. For that, I use Mozilla Thunderbird with the Mozilla Lightning Add-on.

"has potential but seems like a virtual girl program"
Pros: it seems to have potential. the conversation seems good. it does seem to learn. it could be a good bot program, or it "could be" used for someone to have conversations with you, after you are dead, in a sense ... if you interacted with it enough
Cons: it is marketed as a cheesy virtual girl friend type program (for just $29.95), when the subject of A.I. is so serious to many of us. there is not much info available on how the thing learns, and/or if it even sends patterns back to Zaba or whoever
Summary: has potential, but marketing strategy seems bad ... maybe they are making money this way, but i would suggest a more serious approach to A.I. with more user involvement in all the steps ... then if they are really concerned about money, just charge ... read more >>

"Best AI program that is currently available"
Pros: First program that I know that can actually be taught, learns. has great possibilities. Great support that are allways trying to make it better.
Cons: Need some plug-ins to fully use it, and could cost, but I do not see this as being negative. You pay a little for the program and research to make it better, which it should be for something good
Summary: Would recommend this for anyone, sure it is not like making a good conversation with a human, but it is getting close. Support and Forum programmers are allways trying to make it better

"I love this software. Very useful.."
Pros: Helps with my appointments and keeps track of my family and friends birthdays and I love training it to do what I say.
Cons: Sometimes the picture that comes on when you talk to it , comes up slow and a little fuzzy..
Summary: Diffently worth downloading and using.
