Ultimate Windows Tweaker launches a simple but nicely designed interface for selecting optimization options for your system. It offers a two-paned window: the left, vertical pane lists the categories of options, and the right, larger pane displays the check boxes and drop-down menus associated with the category selected in the vertical pane. This free toolbox performed nicely in our tests. The check-box format for selecting options to activate or disable is straightforward and easy to understand, and leaves behind any ambiguity that a novice might encounter in a more robust toolbox. The categories for options follow a logical arrangement suitable for most home users: system information, personalization, user accounts and user account control, system performance, security settings, network tweaks, Internet Explorer, and more. We liked the buttons included with each option category for Create Checkpoint and Restore Defaults, which help to reassure novices that any changes can be reversed.
Intermediate and experienced users will probably want a more robust optimizer with more bells and whistles, but this is a good introductory toolbox that offers a strong string of fundamental Windows tweaks that any user should be familiar with.

SORRY, I was thinking of another program altogether. This program works great. Just what I needed to tweak my system so I like what I see. This should have gotten 5 stars and a positive review. I wish there was some way of redoing this revies. ARGH!

"A bit lacklustre"

It's standalone - no installation required.

Not enough features compared to the old TweakUI of Win98 & XP days.
No explanation of the tweaks - this could be solved with hover-boxes containing the explanation.
No Paging File tweak - a ridiculous omission.Summary
Disappointing, and needs a lot more work. At the moment this is really just a geek toy.

It is the only way to be rid of the terrible task bar pop-ups on Windows &. The whole world complains about them but nobody can get rid of them. Well this software does.
And other handy tweaks aswell.

Most of the tweaks - most but not all - Can already be done with your computer but this software presents them to you in a practical, easy to use/access/figure interface.
I hate Windows7 so much. I changed my operating system to Vista home basic. I like Vista and the basic version is like a "blank canvas" without all the extras which I dont need.
However, the few most pleasing and needed tweaks (for me) are not available on my computer. This software has cured some huge headaches I had with silly stupid Windows 7
Off topic I know but I think it's hilarious that a guy below clicked the wrong download button and got the cnet installer and went ballistic about it in block capitals ROFLLLLLL

"Works great for all my needs"

Nice to get rid of those ugly shortcut arrow, put it an all my computers and have been using it ever since IE6. works on my older XP which can not use IE9 and worked on Vista and as well on W7.
Cons
Have not found any whatsoever, Just need to learn how to use all it's features rather than complain.
Summary
If it wreaked havoc with your Computer you probably did not learn how to use it's features. No need to use some of the security if you are not familiar with it.

This is mis-advertised software. It's not checked out not ready for WinVista nor Win7. Error message "Unhandled exception..."

Has some great ideas to tweak your Windows system. Nice interface. Does let you fix things if they don't work so well.
Cons
It wreaked havoc with my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit system. Restarts became a chore on the Shut Down part. I must admit that I tried many things at once and cannot narrow down what caused the problem. I will not be trying it again soon.
Summary
I believe that the program has promise, but I also believe that programmers should run their own testing and not throw something out there for feedback and troubleshooting.
But free software is far from the only type of programming that does this. So I would not fault them too badly. -

I downloaded what was supposed to be Ultimate Windows Tweaker v2.2, but run it and it's a CNET Downloader that will "Download and Install the Program." NO! HELL EFFING NO! I've ALREADY tried to download the program. WHY DIDN'T I GET IT THEN?!?!?
THIS IS BULLSHIITE CNET!
