There's no doubt that the freeware Tweak UI is a tool designed for people comfortable and confident with mucking about in the guts of their Windows XP installation. If that's not you, we strongly caution against using this program capriciously.
However, if you're the kind of person who likes to get your hands dirty with XP customizations, read on. Tweak UI can alter most of the routine behaviors of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, but it also can affect some of the more advanced ones, too. From customizing the Alt Tab program switcher to removing the white arrow that appears on shortcut icons, from killing the autoplay feature for specific drives to configuring file and print sharing settings, Tweak UI is a must-have.
The interface is basic, but that's all the program needs. Use the left-nav tree to select settings to tweak, and the subchoices appear in the center pane. Old installation problems have been resolved by a standard self-extracting EXE, making this program not only useful but easy to install. Still, to prevent unwanted or potentially damaging alterations, we recommend that only power users confident in making these changes go ahead and use Tweak UI.
Publisher's description
From Microsoft :The Windows shell-development team did some extra programming and put together a set of tools called Power Toys. If you're a power user, go ahead and try them out, but be forewarned that Power Toys aren't supported by Microsoft because they're not part of Windows. This group of "toys" lets you adjust your Windows user interface, including menu speed, window animation, and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Version: Tweak UI 1.33
"Excellent - but only for more advanced users."
Pros: Extra customization to just about everything in Windows, but mainly to things like mouse, menus, and desktop, also, great log on, log off options for convenience or privacy, and a built-in repair function for some of the things you can mess up like your desktop icons, temporary internet files, and REGEDIT.
Cons: This would be even better and more popular if it could also give novice computer users some more information on each function. Maybe when mouse hovers over an option, an explanation appears, or anything to show people what each thing can do.

Version: Tweak UI 1.33
Pros: Has a good help file. Looks good in the cpl.
Cons: with the many other new programs for windows this may be unnecessary and fast mouse need not to be tweaked. and its quite dangerous for unexperienced users like me but at least the "restore setting" is acessible.

Version: Tweak UI 1.33
"A little MS addition to WINXP"
Pros: Does do a lot of "standard" changes to windows easily. Not many changes can hurt computer badly. Easy interface, and good help when an option seems obtuse.
Cons: As said before, there are many other program that do what this one does. Also, I think this did make some bad changes to some folder viewing preferences that I can't change.

Version: Tweak UI 1.33
Pros: I was able to chanhe a lot of Windows settings such as hiding and showing drives I use and do not use. That is a very useful setting and this small sized program can be used without trouble.
Cons: Nothing.. for now.

Version: Tweak UI 1.33
Pros: small file
Cons: most of the options the program offers can be changed through other means. furthermore most the options dont really do much for your system, im not sure how it can be called powertoys when it doesnt increase performance at all. uninstall doesnt work, i had to manually remove the files, which doesnt actually uninstall it, i still have remenants of it on my system...
