To call TuneUp Utilities 2007 useful would drastically understate the situation. The app provides users with a powerful, well-designed utility that accesses the entire Windows maintenance tool set and more in a fast, organized, and easy-to-use series of connected modules.
Temp file management, registry cleaners and start-up program controls are the bread-and-butter of these utilities, and these basics work in TuneUp more quickly and easily than most. However, the app also sports great add-on tools you don't usually see in a utility program. It offers a variety of Internet and program-acceleration tweaks as well as Windows performance enhancers. The crash-preventing MemOptimizer, a file shredder, deleted file recovery, and a respectable uninstall utility round out the suite. You even can automate maintenance tasks with the scheduler or tweak Windows' appearance with the styler tool. The built-in RescueCenter can restore all changes completely or one by one.
The only thing missing is a built-in hard drive defragger, but it seems petty to complain. The system-analyzing wizard, with its thorough reporting and upgrade suggestions, is worth the program price alone. Between the guts of steel and the stylish, logically arranged interface, TuneUp Utilities suits all users--from complete beginners who will appreciate the one-click optimization to more daring users who will experiment with all the settings.

It's all been said about this program but if you thought 2007 was off the chain, try 2008! It has added features like a disk defrag, a registry defrag and some very nice themes for "Vista".As usual, it's a solid, trustworthy, tweaking program. I just cant see why download.com doesn't have 2008 available for download.
Cons
I have no cons to offer except, maybe, the price but as with all software, you get what you pay for. Google search "TuneUp Utilities 2008" and give it a try. You will not be disappointed! Get with the program download.com and update this download.

I Have tested its utilities and am satisfied with the obtained results. It is a good tool to maintain windows xp professional, sp 2 in good operation. I installed it in my notebook and it has worked wonderfully. I have solved some problems and it has improved the system configuration to obtain a better performance. I stand up and clap my hand to its creators. Specially, to offer it free and without limitations during a test period. Other sharewares offers a few features and partial results . Congratulations !

Easy to use utility and effective. It is user friendly and a no brainer to use. Ggets thing done without too much input from user. Trial period allows full functionality, which lets us really try it and make an informed purchasing decision.
Cons
As with any utility like this one. Be very careful what it removes from registry.

If you need customize your Windows system such as startup logo, icons, styles - this is the product! If you want to tune your system such as animations, menus, mouse, keyboard, network, browser - this is the product! If you want to clean up or repair registry, disk drives - this is the product! If you want to undelete some files or delete forever - this is the product! And guess what these are only half of the tools it has!

The installation was flawless. The interface is simple, user friendly and functional. I was smiling when clicking on items and the software explained everything in clear terms, what the items are, what's about to happen, what options I have, etc. It performed everything flawlessly. Now that it finished, my computer is several times faster than it was before, which was after optimizing with Desktop Maestro (useless software). It even made the "regedit" itself run faster! The system information screens are very informative. Great software.
Cons
No defrag function. I am sure that if these same folks put together a defrag software, it would be the best. Until they do, I will keep using AusLogics.

I was a fervent ace utilities user and tried tuneup utilities and what a diference, its way more complete and as easy tuo use as ace utilities.
