Not all programs need to have tons of bells and whistles to be effective. TreeSize Free proves this point. Its approach and set up are as simple as it gets but it gives users detailed information regarding available free space on their computers.
This free program's user interface couldn't be easier to navigate. All you do is select a folder or a hard disk to scan and the program goes to work, quickly displaying the amount of space programs and files are taking up. Using the intuitive command buttons at the top of the window, you can choose to display the program's findings by size, space, allocated space, percentage, and file count. The file space can also be displayed in KB, MB, or GB. We liked that the program lets you expand and view specific files within your selected folder or hard disk to see how much space they are taking, or conversely, the amount of space available for use.
The program is simple enough for any level of user to understand but, should you need it, it does have a good Help menu. If you're interested in finding out what is eating up the space on your computer, we highly recommend the simple and effective TreeSize Free.
Publisher's description
From JAM Software GmbH :Every hard disk is too small if you just wait long enough. TreeSize Free tells you where precious space has gone to. TreeSize Free can be started from the context menu of a folder or drive and shows you the size of this folder, including its subfolders. Each folder can be expanded in Explorer-like style to see the size of its subfolders. Scanning is done in a thread, so you can already see results while TreeSize is working. The space, which is wasted by the file system can be displayed and the results can be printed in a report.
