This program takes an interesting approach to slide-show creation by letting you add your own audio narration. A step-by-step wizard greets you upon launch, but it only walks you through the process of selecting a slide-show template before abandoning you. Nevertheless, most users won't have a problem learning to add images, though we did have to visit the help files to record an audio track. After selecting your photos, you can set the interval between images, add captions, and choose from a number of transition effects. Clicking the Settings menu lets you select your audio-input source and adjust the incoming signal level. TalkingSlide offers several talking heads you can use to narrate your slide show, including famous icons such as George Bush, Albert Einstein, and Pablo Picasso. However, since the trial version only lets you create a three-photo slide show, some users may not find this program worth the download. Despite that tight-fisted restriction, we can see how the application would be useful to those tasked with creating corporate presentations or educational aids.
