Pros
i was able to use this program to import start up programs from my start up file list and set delays for each of the programs. This made for a much stabler boot up on two Vista computers.
Cons
It is possible to lose start up program entries if you do not know what you are doing. The instructions could stand to be beefed up as some options are not completely obvious.
Summary
I was having start up problems with my two Vista computers and it was normally while boot up was still running. I used this program to organize the order and timing of the program starts. This greatly reduced the problems I was having. I would suggest keeping a list of start up programs until you know how to use this software as it is possible to lose start up commands (only in the start up file list and not the actual files). I lost a few commands but because I knew what the commands were, I was able to add them back in. I would also suggest using only the short report listing on the start up as the full window that comes up will not allow you to move or minimize it until booting is complete. This makes it impossible to get to most of the desktop until the program is finished.
This program allows you to make up multiple start up lists and select which ones you want to boot with. If you want to see or modify your start up list, you will need to load it as starting up the program after boot will only give you a blank listing. To use this program you import the start up file list (using a menu command). You then select what programs you want to control and these disappear from your windows start up list. Any additional programs can be added manually. You then set the order and the delay and save the list. The program will then ask you which list(s) you want to run on start up. Be sure to set your start up report listing in this option.
The start up command for this program will replace all the windows start up commands for the imported programs. -
