Pros: None.
Cons: Version 2007 absolutely stinks! It appears they shoved this buggy
program out the door sans any quality check. Stick with previous version.

Version: SmartDraw 2007 8.03
Pros: More difficult to use than ever. Old versions were much more intuitive to use and navigate.
Cons: An upgrade is supposed to be that, going up from what you had before. I loved this software in version 4 and 5 but since then it's been all downhill. If you've used version 7 don't waste your money upgrading to SD 2007. They tell you about all the things they add, what they don't tell you is what you lose.
Previous version you could use on two computers. New version registers you online and only allows one user, one computer.
Old version offered image editing. New version takes this away. Along with image frames and many other useful tools that helped put pictures into smartdraw. Nope, you can't add your pictures to your Smartdraw images anymore.
Old version had biology and many science icons. New version takes these away.
And they've been promising the ability to make shading opaque since version 5 and it's still not here. Heck, there are freewares that offer this feature.
Too many MBA corporate types running this company now. Seeking new and ever more infintesimal ways to take your money while offering the absolute minimum in what they give out. They save it for the next upgrade you'll have to pay for.
Lots of other graphics software's out there that are a lot cheaper. And clip art abounds throughout the net. Seek elsewhere and you'll be much more satisfied.
And if you have a previous version of SD that you're enjoying, just stick with it. It's probably better than the new one.

Pros: Easy to install, easy to use, professional output, real technical support and I did it all myself. I am very happy.

Pros: Easy to setup and create great looking diagrams in a short period of time.
Cons: Would like to see the ability to add your own pictures.

"I loved that I got going with very little difficulty"
Pros: In contrast with my experience with other graphics products, SmartDraw 2007 enabled me to produce good, usable charts in my very first session. Part of this was the excellent "snap to" capabilities -- I found I could move grouped objects without frustration. The SmartDraw templates cover a lot of the work that I do.
Cons: When starting from scratch, I would like to be able to browse objects from multiple templates with greater ease. This may be "operator error" since I am still pretty new to the product.
