Smart General Ledger (SGL) is an easy to use software implementation of an Accounting General Ledger. To ensure integrity and accuracy of financial information maintained, SGL employs classic double-entry bookkeeping. But as a user of SGL, you do not need to know anything about double-entry bookkeeping. SGL creates appropriate accounts and entry shortcuts for you so that you can focus on running your business, not your accounting software. Due to the solid foundation of SGL in double-entry bookkeeping, a full audit trail of all information entered into SGL is maintained for subsequent lookups and reconciliation. Furthermore, you may create additional accounts, modify existing accounts, and control how you post entries to any account. You can even create your own journal entry shortcuts for expedited data entry.
