Version: QuickBooks Simple Start Free Edition 2007
Pros: upgrades to Quickbooks
Cons: Quickbooks released this crippleware hoping you'd bite and then upgrade to the retail version of Simple Start. To ensure you do, they made this software so limited, it's of limited value to your typical business.
--you can only have 20 vendors/customers
--you can't do payroll or track employee time
--no integration with Excel and Word, so forget about exporting anything

"Download count says it all. This is so limited why bother."
Pros: If you only plan to have 5 customers then this is a good starter package
Cons: This bait and switch version from Intuit is to limited to be of value. I'm recommending Microsoft's Office Accounting Express with Quick Payment from BIG Software for my customers.

Pros: I was very disappointed at my experience. The software is nearly 500MB large and takes hours to download. Then it doesnt import data from quickbooks basic. I can only have 20 customers at most (?). This is really not meant for a real business to use.
Cons: I did not like this software. I am sorry to have wasted so much time thinking it would help a small business like mine. I can not track either employee time or my job costs. I cannot do payroll for my employee (I only have 1). I cannot have more then 20 customers without paying extra $99.
