"POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!"
Version: QuickBooks 2010 R4 R4
Pros
Decent Production Online - Purchased the Mac version 2012 and terrible customer service. Would not recommend if you care about support and service at all!
Current Intuit Products I own or services I use:
Intuit Quickbooks Online - 2 accounts @ $39.95/month (over a year and previous accounts in past years as well)
Intuit Efile services x 3 @ $39.95/year
Quickbooks for Mac 2012 @ $183.96 (you can get it cheaper on Amazon at $138 and you don't have to deal with their terrible customer service)
Intuit Mac support free for one month and $19.95/month thereafter. I'm canceling my free month as a 35 minute hold actually costs me more then the value of the free month!!!!Cons
I have been a loyal Quickbooks Online customer for my businesses for a few years. Just dealing with their support teams for Mac has convinced me that Quickbooks and Intuit does not care about their customers or their experience. They sell you on their pro support plan at $19.95 a month but the first time I called that line I was put on hold for 35 minutes only to have the supervisor on the call unable to help. They arranged a call back for the next day with customer support which I received later then promised and the customer support rep who called me said she couldn't help me either. YES, they called to tell me they couldn't help. Another rep confirmed they only have support teams in India and Philippines on all of their outward facing numbers. No support from the US! The same Indian rep who told me that finally gave me the number and email for customer issues and I contacted the Office of the President. That office said I had to wait up to 2 days for top tier support! 2 Days?
Summary
Overall I like their products for my businesses but I can't stomach a company that cares so little about their customer's experience.
Contact info I was given for the Office of the President (the only US contact info I could find)

Good luck if you decide to still deal with Intuit. I'm trying my best to find other options. -
"Got a coupon: 20% off"
Version: QuickBooks 2010 R4 12.0f4172
Pros
I've been a Quicken user for more than 3 years, so I had few problems setting up ,
And i got a 20%off at www.software.com/QuickBooks-for-Mac-9292-1. Thumbs up!Cons
In general, 2011 seems identical to 2007. I don't need the newer features.

"RE-********-DICULOUS"
Version: QuickBooks 2010 R4 12.0f4172
Pros
i liked nothing about this product
Cons
Read below. This is a rant
Summary
not intuitive at all and doesn't let you make a single mistake without spending the next 5 minutes telling you that you cant undo it without first undoing what you actually want it to keep. so if you want a program that will keep a PERFECT RECORD OF EVERY MISTAKE YOU MAKE. then this is the program for you. way to go quickbooks. you could not SUCK any more than you do now. you are the microsoft of invoicing software. "lets just hope that our customers can work around all of the crappy features we have incorporated into our software instead of making it better and easier to use". WAY TO GO QUICK BOOKS!!!!!! YOUR AWFUL!!!!!!! :)

"Bugs, bugs and more bugs"
Version: QuickBooks 2010 R4 12.0f4172
Pros
None that I can think of
Cons
Bugs, bugs and more bugs.
Summary
I can't believe that a company this big decides to stop developing this product, then they come back with what is supposed to be a product designed from the square one and they produce this thing. It's hard to believe how many bugs does it has and how incredible slow it is... I truly hope someone is working on this thing.

"It is unstable and support is overpriced!"
Version: QuickBooks 2010 R4 11.0f2827
Pros
Very few alternatives.
Cons
Unstable, poor support, contact sync feature corrupts data.
Summary
Avoid using it if you can!

"Every yearly update is nothing to write home about"
Version: QuickBooks 2010 R4 11.0f2827
Pros
Best thing is ability to see all the bills due, when they're due and pay accordingly. If you have to pay portions of a bill, it is really easy--the "pay bills" list continues to show how much is left to pay.
Cons
Yearly upgrades generally don't deliver much "value": few new features for the yearly upgrade cost. Almost no free instruction on how to use the product (but lots for a fee)

"Ignoring Mac Users for Years"
Version: QuickBooks 2010 R4 11.0f2766
Summary

I've been selling/supporting Macs for over a decade now and I've fought with Intuit for years to try to get even one simple issue resolved. Never has happened. After all these years they STILL cant work with the same data that Quickbooks on Windows can. I made the mistake of starting my new agency with Quickbooks for Mac. It has severe limitations and is horribly overpriced for something that's not really that complex. I made the move to Quickbooks online for $35/mo. DON'T. I would love if somebody could recommend a better business accounting program that can actually save and import data that anybody can use. Intuit is greedy and obsessed with vendor lock-in. DON'T purchase. -
"Bugs make it unusable. Complete Trash!"
Version: QuickBooks 2010 R4 11.0f2766
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
What a joke. It is so riddled with bugs it is completely unusable. I'm not talking esoteric features used by only a few professionals. I'm talking about show-stopper bugs in simple features like entering transactions.
Did a single tester actually TRY using this before they shipped it? I'm guessing it barely passed the simplest test cases. They clearly didn't try data from a real company.
And their documentation must be for another version because it talks about features that either don't exist, or are accessed through a different UI than the one described.
And don't even get me started on its import / export capability. (lack of capability) It seems like they are trying to limit your access to your data as a way to force you and your financial institution to pay them even more money.
I can't believe a company whose business model is to hold its users hostage can be in business. Why do we stand for this?! -

I hate it when I am smarter then the dudes on tech support. All I had to do is live with a computer geek for 4 years and I can solve practically all problems faster than they can. If they solve them at all!
Today this dunce told me the only way to retrieve my 2007 QB files was to upgrade to 2010. When I gave him 3 options for how I could get around that he a) played dumb b) was dumb or c) couldn't tell me I was right cuz the phone call was recorded. Doesn't matter how you slice it - these peeps are LAME. I just downloaded the demo for 2010, printed hard copies of my invoices and had my accountant transfer the info to Pages for Mac. Thank god for Mac Aps.
I feel sorry for anyone who has to use this BS Ap - I can't imagine if I had more important info to rescue - ugh! -
"Intuit doesn't care about Macintosh."
Version: QuickBooks 2010 R4 11.0f2389
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I'm an electrical contractor and needed a good book keeping system.
This is not it.
Brief history.
Originally we bought QB 2007 and that has been more than problematic.
The program is incomplete or only works partially.
What you see is not what you get in a print out and they are aware of that and wouldn't fix it.
I contacted Intuit here in the states and was told that they really are not concerned with Mac's because of the small market for them. What I see, bugs and all is all I was going to get.
I have to run a second invoicing program that we then copy over to the accounting part of QB.
Today:
When it came out, I could not install Snow Leopard, because QB 2007 would not run on it.
I contacted Intuit and they told me that all of the problems I had were solved now with QB 2010.
Last week, I downloaded QB 2010 which will only run on Snow Leopard.
Installed Snow Leopard, tried to open QB 2010 and it wouldn't accept my password.
Contacted Intuit and was told that I could not receive a new download, but would have to email in my corrupted (downloaded) QB 2010 file to get it fixed.
In the mean time, my QB 2007 won't run, because we have Snow Leopard installed.
It is now one week later, our file is supposedly fixed so we followed the link to the Intuit page to retrieve our file. But now we get an "invalid login" dialog when we try to access the site that has our file w/ the reset password.
After an 1/2 hour waiting to speak with someone who couldn't access it either, we are told that we will have to wait for someone to call us.
In the mean time, my book keeper is sitting here in my office, unable to work.
Intuit really takes care of Macintosh users as an after thought.
It's too bad that more book keepers and accountants don't use something else.
