CNET Editors' review
You make a list, you check it twice. Though this application may be useful for managers who need some extra strategic help, a pad of paper and a pen could suffice for the same exercise. Progress Planner Professional starts off very basic by asking you to jot down notes on the strengths and weaknesses of your team while defining the team's overall goal. More data entry follows: you drill down to the team member, outlining his or her specific tasks and deadlines. Despite this wealth of data, the program offers no way to generate reports on the given information or to summarize data in any way--no charts, no graphs. The interface also is poorly designed, with loads of unused window space and unintuitive fields. Overall, aside from creating a laundry list of to-do tasks for your direct reports, we can't see much reason to get excited about Progress Planner Professional.Publisher's Description
