"Strong on graphics weak on information recovery"
Version: Personal Finances Pro 3.7
Pros
The program is visually appealing and easy to set-up. Pretty graphic representations in reporting but basically useless.
Cons
The visual flow of credits and debits is not easy to follow. To see various accounts they must be expanded individually - each time you want to see an overall picture. Basic reporting for an overall summary is weak.
Summary
Good to look at but basically weak in accounting visual and printed reports.

"Superb...now the best personal finances prog available"
Version: Personal Finances Pro 3.7
Pros
Easy to use across the board, with a real strength in it's highly flexible & intuitive interface, which presents clear financial overviews and projections without fuss. Transactions, reporting, budgets etc are now superbly worked out and efficient.
Cons
The on-line Help needs some to work to both bring it up to date with all aspects of the current version (and then keep it there!) , and also make it more complete, as it lacks depth and clarity in some areas.
Summary
In my experience, PFP is now the most complete, most intuitive and best value Personal Finances software out there. In my time I've bought & tried MS Money, Quicken, plus half a dozen others, and this now beats them all, and, with their various ahortcomings, by along shot in some cases. Until this version of PFP there were some important features missing, but this has been rectified with the latest version. PFP always stood out for me with it's supurb interface, simplicity of use and flexibility in it's presentation of financial data. It now has the basic feature set - plus a lot more - in addition to those previous strengths, and this now puts it head and shoulders above the competition for me.
My recent review refers to v3.8, not 3.7 (it does make a difference!)
