Summary
I've used cutepdf, primopdf but they always had some drawback or another - not capturing PDF's well, not merging PDF files, etc. PDF ReDirect is the first program that was free and convenient that did everything I wanted, including encryption!

This program creates and edits pdf-files quickly. In addition it is light. Exactly what you need.

It does not have a crispy, clear, designed interface, but you quickly learn how to do it.
Summary
It gives me what I need from a pdf-editor. And it does it fast as well as being a featherlight piece of software (as opposed to Adobe).

Can merge multiple docs from diverse sources & formats into a single pdf, or you can combine multiple pdfs into a single pdf file. E-Z controls, with encryption option.

It's hard to think of any negatives.
Summary
I've found this a great way of saving info in an easily accessible and email-able format. Rather than print out a doc, I can "print" it as a pdf using PDF ReDirect and see what I'd be getting before I waste paper on printing. I've used other pdf programs and this one is better than the others in flexibility and utility. It's really a fine program!

Very user friendly... You don't necessarily have to be computer savy to work it. And more importantly, it simply does its job like merging files into one. One of the best freeware around.
