From Fonlow :Open Contacts is an advanced address book program for managing contact info of individuals and organizations with relationships. Distributed as freeware, the program was designed for people who need more beyond legacy address book programs in order to improve dynamic interactions with contacts. It will allow you to lookup and manage contact info.
Version 5.1 added advanced postal address management for mail merge, the drop down count of dynamic fields is adjustable from 8 to 36. With higher value, all predefined fields may be listed, so you will not need to scroll up and down to pick up one. This is configured in the options, and when inputting birthday, it is acceptable to define month and day only without year. The format is MM-DD. In the Search Birthday window, the age of a contact won't be calculated if no year is defined.

"Birthday Reminder is very good"
Pros: Very good searches for birthday, much better than many standalone birthday reminder programs. With a few scripts published in Open Contacts web web site, you may have a Birthday Reminder program integrated with address book data.

Version: Open Contacts 5.1
Pros: The windows designs look odd at the first glance. Actually very optimized for fast keyboard inputs. The key things include unlimited custom data fields, interacting with different Email programs.
Cons: The help manual is a bit poor.
