Jealous of that slick Mac interface? Check out ObjectDock, a free utility that replaces the Windows Taskbar with a colorful, animated dock similar to the taskbar in Mac OS X.
ObjectDock displays icons for currently running applications and can hold quick-launch icons for your favorite programs. As you pass the cursor over each icon, ObjectDock magnifies it and displays relevant information, helping you find what you need even when you're running several programs at once. An attractive clock rounds out the toolbar. The tiny utility comes with a dozen attractive skins, and users with slow computers can reduce the animation quality to increase speed.
There is one major drawback: the lack of a system tray. There is a free, imperfect docklet plug-in available from a third-party provider that valiantly tries to remedy the problem, although it's a bit buggy. You can also upgrade to the Plus edition for $20, which includes system tray support, tabbed docks, support for multiple docks and multiple monitors, and other features.
If you're dissatisfied with the Windows Taskbar or just want to spice up your Desktop, ObjectDock makes a very good, no-risk choice.
Publisher's description
From Stardock :ObjectDock acts both as a task manager and a program launcher. Users can customize the look of each item on the dock and set various animation options for when the mouse rolls over an item on the dock. The program is very easy to configure.

Version: ObjectDock 1.5
Pros: If you're wishing your pc was free from window's bulky and unattractive look, then this can help you on your way. Elegant, tidy and easy on resources, it's joy to use.
Cons: The only thing i can say, is that it's not really a must-have program, as it's not doing anything new. It's still a decent program though, and i advise you to try it.

"Don't know how I managed without it"
Pros: WOW! What a cool little program. I love it. I setup the "Object Dock" bar to be hidden at the bottom of my screen and appear over the existing task bar. The icon magnification is great and it certainly is easy to use. I like a clean desktop, and this program lets me keep the frequently used icons in a very handy location, ready to launch in one click. Simply excellent.
Cons: none

Version: ObjectDock 1.5
Pros: Its a very nice addition to your PC. Looks great, with customizable icons and skins, and multiple dock support if you have the full version, which I do. Heck, it probably has more options and customizeablity than the Mac docks...
Cons: It lags sometimes, even with P4 and 512MB RAM...this program is pretty graphics intensive.

Version: ObjectDock 1.5
"Outstanding! One of the better "cosmetic" downloads."
Pros: Easy to understand & configure, Objectdock is visually appealing and takes up significantly less desktop space than normal shorcut icons.
Cons: I suppose I could complain about the lack of a system tray but... 1) It's free. 2) It's freed up so much more desktop space that leaving the regular taskbar on is not an issue.

"best that looks great with a sidebar."
Pros: I have to say with the newest release wich is 1.9 yes that is the newest release and I have to say alot of improvements and now I enjoy the program so much more then then before. For being free Im sure I will find myself going for the plus version since I got alot of apps i use on a daily basis keep up the good work stardock and thank you for giving us a free app to enjoy and use with no pop ups.
Cons: Since when? When 1.9 came out? No way none at the moment rock on, for that one. :D
