    Version: Numara Track-It 7

    "OK Product - Bad Support"

    Pros: We purchased this software at an expensive price and received poor customer service since it changed companies for a 3rd time from Blue Ocean Software to Intuit and now to Numara Software. Certain portions of the program work well and offer a fair amount of features, but at the purchase price and maintenance price, you are not receiving a good value. There are other solutions out there including free ones that offer a better product. Be patient and do your homework before investing your time, money, and energy into building up your helpdesk infrastructure. You'll be glad you did.

    Cons: The customer support/tech support is very disappointing. Worse off, maintenance fees are very steep. The software itself cannot easily be separated from the support renewals required to fix the bugs and introduce new features that should have originally been included. This version 7.0 is a very minor upgrade rushed to be released as Numara just bought this product from Intuit a few months ago. As a network admin w/ years of experience maintaining this product, I recommend you avoid this company.

    "Well, you know the old saying "You get what you pay for"..."

    Pros: I liked that it was very affordable - the software fit into out company budget. Good for the home office types.

    Cons: Good for a small operation of about one to two people however, TOTAL CRAP for a bigger company - Lacked in those certain areas that you don't find out until a few weeks go by and you start running reports. Then you find out that you can't get the information that you need from the reports. NO ITIL verifaction for any processes. There were many, many other things that caused us to scap Trackiit and find something else. Too bad it cost us more time and money in the long run to go with a cheapie software deal like this. And that kiddies is why they say, "You get what you pay for."

    "Easy to use and good value for the $$"

    Pros: The application is highly customizable. Has many addons to allow you to purchase what you need to run your IT organization.

    I have called into tech support on several occasions and had no problem with their support team. Hold time is really short and their agents solved my problem quickly.

    "GREAT VALUE! FEATURES! EXPANDABILITY! REPORTING! ASSET MANAGEMENT!"

    Pros: The negative reviews sound like people who need things spoon fed to them... Numara didn't BUY it from Intuit, they are the same people who were Blue Ocean and then separated from Intuit. The support is GREAT, adn I've been using Track it since version 4 in 1998. The reporting tool is Crystal Reports, but since the Db is SQL, I've been able to create and run just about any type of report and/or trend analysis that was needed. I've used it for a hotel company with 75 hotels calling in and opening tickets, an ad agency supporting 1000+ internal users, and a company spread across the US with a help desk of 12 and a user base of 1000. It has ALWAYS performed to my satisfaction. Pricing wise, the base Price is EXTREMELY attractive, at less than 10K, and allowing me to pick and choose add-ons and licensing at reasonable costs over time was great! I've played with the freebies, as that user from '06 suggested, but NOTHING has ever come close to this product. in fact, this product competes on a scale with the 100K solutions and higher. I HIGHLY recommend it.

    "It is Full of bugs"

    Pros: not very expensive. Not hard to learn. Tech support is responsive, nice and helpful.

    Cons: We have been using it for at least 7 years, on different servers, with different settings and support staff. Various bugs and glitches all the time, corrupted records. Help desk staff changed servel times over 7 years and they all hated it.

    Summary: i do not recommend it. At least once a year i run into an probem/error, solution for which is not available, we are told to wait until the next version. On one version the product was unusable and we could not wait until the next version, had to do... read more >>
