Edit text files and program codes with this enhanced version of the standard Notepad, but its added functionality comes with a much larger file size. Notepad2 looks much like the Windows' version with a host of editing tools added. You can auto-indent text, insert file name and path, and convert to ANSI or OEM text. You'll also find tools to change the font and background color, and apply those changes to a specific set of file types. The predefined schemes for different programming languages, including Java Source Code, Visual Basic, and Pascal Source Code, proved very useful for highlighting tags, identifiers, operators, keywords, and more. This text editor doesn't install, just run the executable file to use it, though the file is nearly double the size of the Windows' version. The missing Help file may send the novice user back to Notepad, but programmers and other intermediate to advanced users will appreciate all this freeware offers.Publisher's description
From Flo's Freeware :The original Notepad shipped with Windows is probably the handiest program of all times: small, fast, and without frills. Notepad2 tries to follow this principle - it's a small, fast, and free text editor with syntax highlighting for HTML and other common languages.
