NCH's forte is audio, video, and business software. The NCH Toolbox is a free utility that serves as a handy gateway to NCH's freeware and shareware. You select a task, and the NCH Toolbox automatically downloads and installs the appropriate tool. It's an interesting way to get you to try the company's wide product lineup, which ranges from pro-level audio and video tools to neat little apps like TempoPerfect, a metronome generator, and PitchPerfect, a guitar-tuning utility.
The NCH Toolbox comes as part of the download when you try an NCH product, or you can download it directly. It's only about 95KB, but it includes a full Windows-style installer. The program's interface is a simple dialog box with an active list view framed by the question, "What do you want to do?" Buttons to close the program and access a full-featured Help file are all the remaining controls. Clicking on an entry, such as "Create Test Tones," activates the program's "Install-On-Demand" feature, which automatically retrieves and installs the right software, in this case, the company's NCH Tone Generator.
The NCH Toolbox is listed as working in most Windows versions up to Vista, though we tested it on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine, and it worked just fine. However, we found that some applications don't yet work in Windows 7, and others won't run in earlier versions of Windows, such as 98 or ME. This is a handy little app that makes it easy to try some interesting tools. We recommend trying it for yourself.

The software was easy to figure out, use and navigate.
Cons
Poor support, poor company, can't handle certain up and coming formats.
Summary
It cannot handle certain file formats, like AVCHD. After purchase, I then got a new camera that is AVCHD. The VideoPad cannot handle it. After seeking help from their Support department, they realized they can't solve it and have decided to ignore me 100%. Thanks for taking my money and not helping when your product doesn't work. NEVER AGAIN! What a total waste. Please go elsewhere for your software needs.

"Debut created corrupted AVI files, no customer support"

No customer support to fix it. I downloaded the free version of debut with the intent of purchasing to record video from an external camera for my research. My first try worked well then the 2nd set of AVI files it created were all corrupted. Lost all my data ;/
