Many try to improve on the standard Windows calculator, and Moffsoft FreeCalc does a fairly good job of it. Besides the traditional functions, this calculator offers extras such as SQRT through a bigger, easier interface. Our favorite feature is the "transaction tape," essentially an ongoing record of all calculations performed. You'll never again be at square one after accidentally pressing C--just look at the tape and start from your last calculation. Number crunchers will be sure to appreciate FreeCalc's enhancements to their primary tools.Publisher's description
From Moffsoft :Moffsoft FreeCalc is a great replacement for your existing Windows calculator. We took the standard Windows calculator functionality and added a printable/savable transaction tape, sizable display, tray icon, digit groupings, color schemes, double- and triple-zero keys, visible memory value, and an always-on-top setting.

Version: Moffsoft FreeCalc 1.2.0.6
Pros: I was looking for a free MS calculator replacement, mostly for a thousands separator. This product if fantastic, especially the "tape" feature.
Cons: None.

"Much better than default calculator"
Pros: I have always disliked the calculator with Windows. Every version that came out I was hoping for some improvement, but alas. This is a nice alternative and I can actually see what I typed. I just wanted a caculator with the basic functions and this fit the bill.
Cons: Although it can have different colors, it would be cool to have it with more 3D XP-style skins rather than Win98 color schemes. I know, it's just a calculator sheez.

"Works fine w/Vista, though doesn't say it's compatible"
Pros: When I switched to Vista I missed my Moffsoft Calculator. I hate the MS one that comes bundled in. Took a chance and downloaded it, and it works great! I like the skins, the availability of the tape, and the general ease of seeing the functions clearly.
Cons: I wish it had more skins.

"It's OK, adds a tape (wow!), but also lacks much needed extra functions"
Pros: It is an OK calculator... it add the OBVIOUS that most others leave out (the tape)... but they could have at least added some more functions for the rest of us... Microsoft's Calculator Plus offers all the extra functions and features you can dream of, and it is also free.
Cons: I would have liked to see extra functions... for me: trigonometric and engineering functions, for others, scientific functions, a financial calculator, mortage amortization, unit conversions, etc. Microsoft's Calculator Plus 1.0 offers ALL of these features, at the same price (free), and it's been available as a free download for ages.
