"Incremental increase on a great product"
Pros: MindManager 7 Pro is excellent for mapping out products, ideas, writing or projects with lots of details. I've used MM for 6 years and have it running on my machine all the time. I even use it at home for keeping track of lots of details for home projects. MM7's filtering brings huge maps into sharp focus, and the new ability to save and reuse filters and queries only enhances that ability.
There's also a new function to focus down on a selected branch in a larger map, hiding everything else until you want to see the "big picture" again, as well as splitting your screen to view 2 widely-separated parts of a large map at once.
They've also added macro functionality to let an expert user build templates that will prompt newer users when creating a new map with the template. That makes introducing mindmapping and MM7 to new, less-techie users much easier.
Finally, there are new ways to export and save your work, so sharing is better.
If you're a previous user looking to upgrade to the latest, check out the trial version first. There's no new "must-have" features here, just incremental improvements.
If you haven't used MM before, give the trial version a serious look. Mindmapping and MM7 can help you become much more productive at work or home. I introduced it to the fundraising office at my college and it got so popular that they ended up getting a site license so everyone can have MindManager; it's that good.
Cons: They replaced the traditional menus with the Microsoft Office 2007 "Ribbon" interface, which you'll either love, hate or be indifferent (as I am) . If you're already using Office 2007, you'll feel very comfortable. If not, it may take you a couple hours. Be sure to read the help documentation to learn the tricks for using the Ribbon interface well, so you'll have a good experience.

Version: Mindjet MindManager Pro 7
"A fantastic tool for the knowldge worker."
Pros: MindManager is one of the most useful software tools that I have. I use it constantly. It is very intuitive to use. It has a property that I really love about some software; if I'm not sure how to do a certain thing, I do what seems like it should work and most of the time it does. It's very friendly and obvious despite its sophistication. It's the kind of software that you can open up and just get to work with easily, but it also has a lot of depth and functionality to explore. I've been using MindManager for about seven years, including the various flavors of Microsoft Office integration and I have always been pleased with every new version of the software. You can output maps to many formats for sharing, collaborate on mind maps, and there's a really beautiful presentation mode that animates map navigation in an intelligent way for reviewing the information with others. The new version 7 has many improvements and enhancements over version 6, which I also loved. The implementation of the Microsoft Office styled ribbon tool bar is really well done, and the enhancements to mind map navigation and viewing are very helpful. I can very highly recommend this tool to anyone that needs to organize their thinking and planning.
