"Worst customer support on the planet"
Pros: Once you get the program installed, it works pretty good. I used the Platinum version for several years. I considered purchasing the Navigator version, but couldn't get a response on whether or not the program would run on my new PDA. I downloaded the trial version with a couple of maps. It worked somewhat different than the other version so I tried to email support. Well, eventually I figured it out on my own. The price is probably the best for what you get (if you only consider program features).
Cons: Heaven help you if you have trouble installing it because you won't get any help from customer support! I had some trouble initially installing it on a Toshiba PDA. The customer support rep I spoke to was the rudest person I have ever encountered--bar none! When I switched PDAs to one with a built in GPS, I emailed support twice to ask about upgrades and never once received an answer. In fact, I have never received a response from any of the emails I've sent in. If you can find another product, get that one, pay more if you have to.

"Mapopolis GPS Software Discontinued"
Pros: Was good, but it's now gone out of business.
Cons: As of April 1, 2007, Mapopolis had discontinued sales of its consumer software. However, map downloads remained available for one year past that date. The map downloads are no longer available.

"Great product! East to use GPS navigation software"
Pros: Easy to use. Full function software with voice prompt turn-by-turn. Fast re-routing decision. Fast GPS tracking time (less than 1 min at the first time). Great full function demo map (9 days limit).
Offer individual map purchase or MapPack ($99 for a year unlimited download) on their web site mapopolis.com.
Excellent customer support, answer question the next day.
As per the customer support, they are shipping release 4.66 with much more features. Send e-mail to their support for more inform support@mapopolis.com
Cons: No 3D support. Hassle in loading maps as there is no map finder/viewier to help out. Too short the favorite list (8 entries only). You have to know which map you need to load. A bit better for US maps as there is a Cunty Map image (can only be viewed on their web site but you can crop the image to your PC). However, for Canadian Maps no help at all. Maps open limited by population (the aggregated population for the maps you open must not exceed say 20 millions, otherwise it will not open further maps). Therefore, you cannot download all the maps in an SD card and plan your route coast-to-coast

"This is the worst navigation software I've ever used"
Pros: Map display is OK when zoomed in. User programable features of some parts of program are nice (like when to give voice prompts).
Cons: The display as you zoom out is cumbersom with lots of towns floating around and it clogs up memory. You have to manually set the detail level.
The way Mapopolis handles maps is abysmal. You have to manually load individual maps, and you can not navigate until you've loaded all the maps you need. The problem is, if you knew so much about the maps why would you need a GPS in the first place? There is no way to select maps within the program FROM a map. You just have to know the names of the counties (in the US) or the "districts" (or whatever) in Europe. This is particularly bad in Germany where the region names are so long they go off the right side of the screen, but wait - there's no scroll bar to see the rest of the name! Plus you usually have no idea what is where anyway. You can load a big map, then slowly move around the map looking up names, then go back in and load them up, but it is very clumsy and time consuming. The Navigation interface for selecting destinations is almost useless. Literally, I have been half way to my destination many times before I finally got things set up and a route computed. It also hogs the memory for long routes causing the Bluetooth connection to drop.
I could go on and on about other problems, but you get the idea.
I recommend you stay away from this software!
