Version: Lotus Approach 9.8
"Using this since 1997 still by far the best!"
Pros: Since earlier Window OS's this has not changed, easy to use and easy to write scripts, I like the fact that the format has not changed.
Cons: Ever since the outset there seems to have been a very minor glitch, which has been well documented, its never bothered me but it may others, Lotus have never addressed this problem with an update
Summary: When I learnt to drive the controls have stayed pretty well much the same on every car. Other programs have changed beyond thier origins and are really no better, this has remain the same, it was good at start as it still is today, well done Lotus.

Version: Lotus Approach 9.8
"Much easier to use than Access"
Pros: Intuitive and easy to use
Flexible
Uses standard dbase files
Imports data from many different file types
InexpensiveCons: It is supported by IBM but they no longer really update and add features. They seem to have accepted the fact that they lost the battle to MS office.
Summary: I have used this product for business for over 10 years and now have a very large and complex database on it- I originally studied Approach vs Access and found Access overly complex and impossible for me to learn on my own. Approach is extremely e... read more >>

Version: Lotus Approach 9.8
"Lotus Approach is user friendly - my favorite database!"
Pros: Extremely user friendly.
Cons: That I cannot find a newer release than SmartSuite Millenium. I also hate that it is so unknown .... everytime I mention Lotus Approach to anyone, they say "oh 123!"
Summary: Again, it is very simple to use and create databases. I love that I can create instant letters, envelopes, etc. NO MAIL MERGES necessary. I still use it at work to manage a $5000 database that cannot search for duplicate addresses, names, etc.

Version: Lotus Approach 9.8
Pros: No Pros because it's not working
Cons: Doesn't work because it goes to IBM website and doesn't have a download.
