Publisher's description

This system provides service requests or the transfer of information within and across workgroups. A ticket management system provides a better solution than e-mail because both the initiator and the person responsible to resolve the issue have access to the same document. The user interface program is a Win32 C++ program that runs on the users PC. Unlike browser-hosted interfaces, much of the processing is done on the end users machine; only the data is transferred across the network. Data is cached in memory on the end users machine so scrolling or browsing items requires no round trips to the SQL server. Small workgroups can use a shared Access database locally or deploy Kalvyn using an SQL server.
