The standard notepad or word-processing applications are not handy to store a bunch of notes while organizers usually serve to record notes of the same kind (e.g. addresses or recipes). Jot Notes belongs to programs that solve the problem by arranging information into a tree. We liked its configurable interface: one can move toolbars, add/remove buttons, and assign hotkeys for any action. Jot Notes enables you to move notes (or entire branches) by simple drag-and-drop. To easier find notes on large trees, you can highlight them and assign your icons. The notes may contain tables, images, or links to files, Web sites, and other notes. Sorting options (configurable for any folder in a tree) lets you turn Jot Notes, for example, into an address book. The program can be recommended as a real replacement for your old good notepad.
