"A useful way of maintaining Bibtex references"
Version: JabRef 2.6
Pros
You don't have to remember Bibtex syntax
Cons
It isn't very good at importing Bibtext: paste it in to the raw BibTex box and it generally fails. It would also be good if it had corrections for non-ASCII characters, using TeX backslash codes.
Summary
It's a useful way of organising references but a bit weak on usability. A step up from editing a plain text file with Bibtex markeup.
