CNET Editors' review
HyperCalendar from Foryousoft is a full-featured Personal Information Manager (PIM) that combines a desktop calendar and scheduling program with multimedia reminders, an analog clock display, sound recorder, and an encrypted diary in rich-text format. You can change the look, position, and other aspects of the display. Password protection secures the program from prying eyes, a feature that shouldn't be underestimated.
The first thing you notice about HyperCalendar is its semitransparent TopCalendar display, which features the month's calendar, the analog clock, and navigation buttons. You can drag the calendar anywhere on the desktop, resize it, and alter its transparency from opaque to barely visible. Right-clicking any date calls up a menu accessing reminders and other features, a handy arrangement. The program installs a System Tray icon; clicking it calls up the main interface, whereas right-clicking it calls up its file menu. The tabbed interface is compact yet efficiently designed, with Reminder, Diary, and Recorder. We typed a quick diary entry using the default fonts, saved it, and then searched for it by keyword in the navigation pane, which also sports a duplicate calendar for accessing reminders, notes, and diary entries. HyperCalendar instantly displayed the entry with the date it was created. We especially like the ability to create reminders and notes from the interface or directly on the calendar display.
HyperCalendar worked just fine in Windows 7. There are a lot of desktop PIMs out there, and HyperCalendar can stand with the best. We feel its transparent all-in-one desktop display sets it apart from the crowd, though.
