This helpful file compression tool will satisfy users looking for a simple drag-and-drop archiver, but the program is not quite as easy to use as advertised. HandyBits Zip&Go's very simple button and pull-down menu interface doesn't require long study to master. Many functions could use hot keys, but this utility favors mouse movements over keyboard presses. A short Help manual concisely explains most program functions.

Operating HandyBits Zip&Go in its default state is very simple. Drag a file or folder and drop on the program's interface to easily create a new zip file. Alternatively, users can choose to start a new zip file and invoke the program's hand-holding wizard. The utility includes the expected compression and decompression functions. Bonus features include archive encryption, virus checking, and send archive to e-mail. Each function requires no more than a few mouse clicks. None are as robust as with dedicated programs, but they're adequate for most users.

HandyBits Zip&Go isn't the fastest, easiest, or most robust zip utility on the market. It's just enough of all three to make it popular with many users. The fact it is freeware is a bonus. Those who prefer to use the mouse will like this application's approach.
