To put it gently, Adobe Reader is a real pain in the hindquarters.
It's monstrously large, slow to load, and includes many features most users will hardly ever need. Foxit PDF Reader 2.0 omits these widgets and throws in some neat features, such as annotation tools, while still allowing you to read PDF documents.
The interface mimics Adobe's, so you won't have to change your reading habits. In our test, the text readability wasn't much inferior to Acrobat's. The 1.6MB program starts surprisingly fast compared to Acrobat. You might need to fiddle a bit to get it to work with your Internet browser, but you can find help on Foxit's support forums. It's a nice touch that it opens PDFs from the Internet in their own Foxit window, instead of sucking resources from within the browser.
Foxit's biggest flaw in the old version was hogging memory and that has been corrected. We did find it incredibly irritating that URL hyperlinks were unclickable, and that some features were secretly blocked in the evaluation copy.

"The best PDF reader available (for Windows at least)"
Pros: Its free.
Its very small in size.
The download is small and the memory footprint is small.
Works with Internet Explorer the same way as Adobe does.
It will associate itself with PDF's after first run.
Its ULTRA fast.
It provides all the same features as Adobe's PDF reader while doing it in a similar interface.
Zooming and copying text works great.
Cons: It doesn't work with FireFox...I'm not a FireFox user so its not a problem for me, but there are a good number of FF users who will have a problem --- ditto for Opera.
It integrates itself with PDF files on first run. I personally don't mind this since I use this program as my main PDF reader, which is why I listed this as a PRO as well...but some people may not like this functionality.
The column with the page list isn't AS functional as Adobe PDF reader. Adobe does the page list column somewhat better.

"really great alternative to tradition"
Pros: I try it after reading your reviews & now i thank u all (special thanks to praveen360) . This is precise just like ACROBAT . Ok , hasn't got all-in-one ACROBAT features but...take a look at your control panel : do u see how much RAM you're savin' ? Your pagin' file will thank u a lot ! I think ADOBE's software are too heavy & FOXIT's really great present...also considering is totally freeware . I renew Thanks to all reviewers & to Cnet .

Pros: Loads faster than Acrobat Reader.

"Better Than Adobe Acrobat Reader"
Pros: I suffered many crashes because of Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0.7 according to Microsoft's error report and when I read about Foxit at Download.com I decided to switch. Foxit Reader is easy to install and uninstall. It loads pages fast, is a lot smaller than Adobe Acrobat reader and doesn't crash. Look at their website for the latest version. You have to run the .exe file for the first time to associate the .pdf files on your computer with foxit. It runs without installation.

"Better,quicker and much less memory than Acrobat Reader"
Pros: Sleeker, Quicker and looks better, and much less memory, infact hardly any memory.Acrobat is a slowwwwww hogmaster.I Uninstalled Acrobat reader 4 months ago.I do a lot of property viewing for the job I have.So it suits me down to the ground.
Cons: ermmmmm ermmmm ermmmm ? nope! can't think of any.
