Version: FlyBy E6B
"Excellent, easy to use, product!!!!!!!!!!!"
Pros: I'm a military instrument instructor pilot. I have a Palm 4.0 OS based PDA. This program is so very easy to use. It allows me quick checks of students work as well as providing rapid computations for every inflight calculation.
I can't begin to tell you how easy, straight forward and user friendly this software is.
Cons: Precision approach rate of descent computations are programmed to include the curvature of the earth. This standard is used by Jeppesen and makers of GPS units with VV rate calculations such as the fine Bendix/King KLN-90B.
NOS/Flip publications ignore curvature of the earth in their rate of descent charts as do 'whiz wheels' thus generating small errors. Thus finitely small variations exist between NOS/Flip and the Flyby E6b calculations for FPM on a given glide angle.
This is small and irrelevent as the difference cannot be seen on a VSI nor flown.
