A quick, easy database can be used for many things, from managing your CD library to keeping track of your extended relatives' birthdays. The free FileAmigo LE provides the basic tools for creating a simple database from templates in just seconds. Once a database is created, FileAmigo allows users to search for specific entries, create reports, and enter corrections using a find-and-replace tool. Data can be exported into a CSV file that can be opened in Excel. However, because the software does provide an easy way to back up the data or protect it with passwords, we would not recommend using it to store sensitive information. With this caveat, FileAmigo could be a good alternative for people who want simple database functionality, but who don't want to graduate to the complexity of MySQL or another more powerful tool.Publisher's description

"Easiest, most dependable file management database program I've worked with!"
Pros: Easy to set up your initial fields. Easy to change variables in the fields later. Good sorting ability. It is superb for setting up customer route systems. It's free. I highly recommend it!
It automatically saves info upon quitting.
Cons: Only one problem I saw. When setting it up to sort, low numbers had to be entered 01, 02, etc. verses 1,2,3

Pros: Free, works great, very easy to use, will handle large volumes of data.
Cons: The free version works great but the upgrade version for networking seems to have networking problems.
Summary: I love the free version but don't buy the upgrade.
