Version: Express Scribe 4.01
"It's too bad the last person didn't persevere."
Pros: I'm sure that some poor souls didn't get the chance to experience this awesome program for fear of a non-existent virus...but it is indeed awesome (I downloaded an earlier version, and have now successfully upgraded). As someone who has to do quite a bit of transcribing, this program is tops for capabilities/flexibility. It requires a little bit of a brain to use, but not too much - and it's well worth it. It's also free! (I've paid a lot more than free for a proprietary program that doesn't do half of what this program does...) So swallow your fears - I scanned this program with two different updated anti-virus software programs, and it turned up negative. Have fun! Or at least work smarter and not harder...
Cons: Eh, in terms of the GUI, it's not as easy as the software for dummies you find prettily packaged - but it's not nearly as bulky either.

Version: Express Scribe 4.01
"Better than Olympus DSS player"
Pros: Free alternative to Olympus DSS player ver. 6. Performs better and is stable.
Cons: Doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Olympus DSS player ver. 6, but other free programs out there make up for it.

Version: Express Scribe 4.01
Pros: Links for almost every task related with voice recognition work are provided with instant download, if needed.
Cons: .wav to word transcription of pre-recorded conversations seems improbable.
Summary: Not sure what to say.
