I've got my background set at Green and foreground Cyan.
Really cuts out the confusion if you are working between another open Notepad file.

At just under 100k, It has to be the smallest notepad replacement software. It might be small in size, but not in features. It can handle large files, and offers extensive keyboard shortcuts. To close the application, simply hit the "Escape" key. To change fonts, hit Alt + 1, 2. It's right up there with my other favorite, Metapad.
