It preserves the complete formatting of the PDF file, including original graphics. It identifies and sets out tables, paragraphs, and columns. It even supports part-conversions of the PDF. You can even extract images from a PDF document. Other features include the ability to convert multiple PDF files at the same time; and multilingual conversion.

We appreciated this program's wizard-like approach to converting PDFs to Word and Excel files. Though it ultimately converted several PDFs to Word, Excel, Image, and PostScript files, we did hit a few bumps along the way.
Docsmartz PDF Converter Pro has a very easy-to-use interface. Simply browse for the PDF (or multiple PDFs), select the destination folder, and click on the file format command button. The program comes with several conversion modes that allow you to convert the PDF as is, text only, and images only. Similar programs give you the ability to select specific text, but unfortunately, Docsmartz only allows you to select specific pages. Even then, a trial limitation prevents you from converting more than three pages. We tried to convert our PDF to a Word file, as is. On the first try, the program failed to complete a conversion. The second time around, it completed the conversion, but the Word document required a lot of cleanup to make it readable. What's more, when we tried to view the log report after the first failed attempt, the program stopped responding and shut down on us.
A built-in Help feature is available, as well as a link that takes you to the publisher's Web site for support. In addition to the three-page conversion limit, the program comes with a 29-use trial. If you can forgive a few glitches, this PDF conversion program is worth a shot. Otherwise, you might want to keep an eye out for a more stable, feature-rich program.

Pros: I have been looking for an inexpensive, easy to use conversion tool. And I found Docsmartz with pretty intuitive and simple interface, for doing PDF to word conversions with accurate format and good speed. Others features are also highly useful.
