Dictionary Cleaner is a free System Preferences pane that adds functionality to your Macs built-in dictionary. Normally when you have spell-check active in an application like Mail or Safari, you can control-click on a highlighted misspelling and ask the Dictionary to learn that spelling (which can be especially useful for nonstandard words that you use often, like the name of a person or company). Dictionary Cleaner improves on this by allowing you to go back and see all the custom words you've added, as well as edit or delete them (and that's especially great if you've ever asked the Dictionary to learn a misspelling on accident). Dictionary Cleaner also has a filter to help you search through your custom words, and it comes with support for ten languages. As befits a humble preference pane, Dictionary Cleaner comes with a very clear, streamlined interface. The only drawback is that Dictionary Cleaner is limited to OS X 10.5 or greater.Publisher's description
From Two AM Software :Until now there has been no easy way to see what dictionary words you've added, to add words to the dictionary while not in a word processor or editor, or to remove spellings youve accidentally added. Dictionary Cleaner gives you the power to do all that and more. Dictionary Cleaner installs with just one click and resides in the Macs System Preferences panel making it always just two clicks away. The utility is packed with several powerful features that gives you more control over your computer.
The clean interface allows you to view, add, and delete learned words. Compactly written to take advantage of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and Objective-C 2.0s programming language strengths. Fool-proof, one-click install process. You can even delete it with one click, unlike an application, Dictionary Cleaner doesn't waste a spot in your applications folder. Version 1.5 adds new features for editing, sorting, filtering, tooltips, and more.

Version: Dictionary Cleaner 1.5
"Idiot proof method to edit custom dictionary"
Pros: Finally, a way to go in and remove the words accidentally added to my custom dictionary. One wrong click and your spell checker is no longer accurate. This provides a list of words added so you can check, edit or delete them.
Cons: I could detect no drawbacks.
Summary: This little add-on has give the user control over the custom dictionary. Idiot proof.
