This application was designed to accelerate your connection, but its claims were unsubstantiated during testing. Through BeFaster's skinnable interface, you can select what type of connection you have--for example, a LAN or a T1 connection, DSL broadband, or a dial-up modem. Then you click Optimize Settings, after which the program will prompt you to reboot your PC for the settings to take effect. The program claims to improve online gaming connections, optimize TTL, and TCP large Windows connections. Additionally, BeFaster offers advanced features for customizing MTU and browser settings, QOS and NWLINK parameters, and COM ports, though you'll probably need a trip to the help section to fully understand these options. Unfortunately, we didn't notice any significant improvement in our connection during initial and subsequent system reboots. To add to your woes, BeFaster is bundled with adware, as you won't be able to install the program without accepting its additional toolbar. Suspiciously, the toolbar didn't appear on our IE browser. Though its target audience of advanced users may be willing to deal with these issues, it doesn't minimize the fact that this 15-day trial program does not always deliver.Publisher's description

It optimizes AOL, Symantec PcAnyWhere, IE, Opera, Dial-up modem, Lan, Wireless, Cable Modem, xDSL, ISDN, T1, DirecPc and Cable/DSL running PPPoE or PPPoA. You can configure settings manually or program can automatically configure them for you. You can optimize your online/network gaming speed easily. Its Super-Ping Tool prevents connection drops and its Ping Now Function awakes suspended modems.
Its live update property will make you informed about the new versions. You can share your custom settings with your friends by using Records Function. With BeFaster Web Edition; you can determine settings online and optimize them with BeFaster offline. This program is designed for Windows.

"Do not download - Trojan Horse"
Cons: Warning: Norton advises that a Trojan Horse was included in the download. Makes me wonder what "Tested Spyware Free" means.

Pros: none...
Cons: it made my connection slow as hell, once i uninstalled, it reset all internet settings to default, thats when my connection got faster :P laaame ass sounds.. *** is that the built in speech tool for windows? seriously... this **** sucks..

Pros: Its interface is nice, i can easily optimize by one mouse click. I have tried several settings to find the best one for me and i did. It really speeds up my high speed cable connection.
Cons: Its startup sound can be better so I disabled the sound.
