Instead of having to remember to defrag disks, Ashampoo Magical Defrag will keep up with the task with little intervention on your part. It may not be magical, but it is a practical approach to a job that needs to get done but often gets forgotten.

The user interface is pretty basic, but the straightforward design makes it easy to navigate. Settings options allow you select the hard disk(s) that you want to include in the defragmenting process. Once you click the Defragment Now button, setup is pretty much finished. Ashampoo Magical Defrag goes to work when your computer is idle. You can pause the program, but otherwise you don't need to do anything. If you're really interested, the defragment screen visually displays the process. Tiny, color-coded square symbols show you the amount of free space on your hard disk. You can also opt to show weekly statistics, display the taskbar icon, and to cease running the program while in battery mode. A statistics summary tells you how many files were defragmented and how many clusters of files were moved, so you can keep tabs on what's going on behind the scenes.

An extensive Help file will answer questions you might have along the way. The program comes with a very generous, 40-day trial period. It doesn't get much easier to keep your disks defragmented, and we recommend Ashampoo Magical Defrag for all users.
