Version: ABBYY PDF Transformer 1
"Slow and memory hog...but gets the job done."
Pros: Only program I found to correctly convert pdf tables into Excel - including cells with multiple lines.
Cons: Program takes a long time to convert (50 pages takes 15 minutes). Also, uses almost all CPU resources. Only usable way is to convert when your computer would otherwise be idle. Does not support multiple files - one at a time.

"This is an excellent tool to convert PDF"
Summary: I tried a couple of PDF conversion tools in the market for my projects. PDF Transformer is one provided the best results.

Version: ABBYY PDF Transformer 1
Pros: It's easy to use. Supposedly transforms PDF documents into Word, Excel, html or text formats.
Cons: It doesn't do a very good job. Most images seem to come through OK, but logos don't. Converted text will need to be edited (not always possible). Converted layouts are only approximate. Any unusual fonts get mangled. The result doesn't look too much like the original.

"Did not deliver on Excel conversion"
Summary: Got a message saying that cells limited to 255 characters - even though that was not the case for my document. Converted 3 out 150 pages. Number columns converted nicely, but labels did not.
