The Blank Bergamo Contemporary Art is a cultural association founded in 2010 with the aim of spreading and widening passion and curiosity for contemporary art in the Bergamo area. The Blank, literally "an empty space to fill", aims to be a meeting place among the different realities of Bergamo, a network that coordinates initiatives between public and private, finalizing its activities to promotion and appreciation of contemporary art through connections among people, organizations and associations, and promotion of public and private institutions dealing with contemporary art in Bergamo.The Blank association's activities are primarily concentrated in project and implementation of ARTDATE, the days of contemporary art in Bergamo organized every year by The Blank with openings, performances, meetings and conferences at The Blank members' venues, visits to artists' studios, tours of special architectures and places, visits to private collections of contemporary art.Since 2013, during the year The Blank organizes at its headquarters in Via Quarenghi 50, Bergamo, Breakfast at Residency and The Blank Kitchen, series of dinners in which the artist cooks a special menu for guests and presents his work.In 2011, The Blank activates the artist in residence program: The Blank Residency for structuring different projects that offer hospitality and space to Italian and foreign artists and theorists of contemporary art. The first project of The Blank Residency was in 2012 The Blank Artist in Residence - Fondazione Banca Popolare di Bergamo, with the collaboration of Accademia Carrara di Belle Arti, GAMeC Galleria dArte Moderna e Contemporanea and the support of Fondazione Banca Popolare di Bergamo.
