• Barely satisfactory for US coins

  Pros

  I used this program for several years in the past to organize a collection of World coins. Before purchase, I was assured by support that it was designed to support such a collection. Entry of US coins was easy and intuitive. It is relatively easy to add coins to the database which is always important.

  Cons

  The CoinManage database is not as robust as they would like customers to believe. While adding coins to the DB is fairly simple, it is an extra, time-consuming step. It's OK to do this occasionally, it is NOT OK to be required to do this frequently. For any collector of World coins, this is definitely NOT the program to use. There are other equally user-friendly programs with a more robust database. I found support good prior to my purchase and initially after purchase. However, when I began asking about fundamental flaws in the program, they stopped returning my emails which was a disappointment.

  Summary

  After struggling to adapt my situation to this program, I finally gave up and found another with an extensive database of nearly all world coins. The new provider even had a conversion program to port the CoinManage collection to their program. I have been with this new program for several years. Support has been awesome. I have never looked back after making the switch.

• Great software for tracking a coin collection

  Pros

  I like the organization and appearance of the software (much more than any other program I surveyed prior to purchase). I like the number of user input fields as well as the amount of information already in the software. It is good to be able to add photos and other types of coins not already listed. I have happily upgraded over the years and look forward to seeing how the 2015 version works.

  Cons

  I have intermittent trouble adding photos of my coins; not yet sure why it works sometimes and not other times. I'll have to see if this is better in the 2015 version. I also only now discovered the ability in the 2015 version to add address info for dealers I've bought from. Don't know if this was there before because it was not obvious. I've seen others not happy with support but my experience has been positive, only lacking a specific resolution to the photo addition problem although I did get a response about it. It does seem to lack the ability to add additional countries (except under "other"), which I would very much like. Lastly, it would be nice to have an iPhone app to interface with the database but I will adjust to exporting/importing an Excel file.

  Summary

  Overall, having purchased and enjoyed several versions of this software, I recommend it without hesitation or reservation.
