This interesting application quickly retrieves and prints nuggets of information about first names, although a notable performance flaw rears its head in some instances. First Name Origins offers three scroll-style templates and lets you change the font size and color of the text. Once you enter a first name and choose a gender, the program will quickly return information such as the name's meaning and origin. It also serves up information concerning the person's integrity, personality, emotional state, and relationships, though you can edit this data if you don't agree with it. If you want to add an extra touch, check the box for date of birth. You can see results using both American and British spellings, but in some of our tests, the preview option didn't work, meaning we had to print out a scroll to see what it looked like. The one-week trial period is less than we usually like to see in a download, and we didn't like the unsolicited shortcut that appeared on our desktop. Still, if you like making customized gifts for your friends, First Name Origins might make a nifty addition.

Has HUGE watermark across it!

Easy to use & I like the personal profile part of it.
Cons
The scroll is ugly. It needs art backgrounds like other name origin software. The biggest disappointment is the HUGE RED watermark across the sample that says "TRIAL VERSION".
Summary
Personally, I'd skip it. I went to the website to see if there were other backgrounds available other than the ugly scrolls, & there wasn't any speciffic information available. It says that there are options, but supplies no pictures for the potential buyer to preview. I'm not willing to spend money on something that doesn't supply important details about the product. From the samples shown/given both in the trial version & on the website, it seems that a lot is lacking in aesthetics.

I liked the fact that it told you information about the names. I was quite impressed untill I printed it.
