This program provides coin enthusiasts with a comprehensive and informative solution for managing their collections. CoinManage's massive download size and lengthy installation process are somewhat justified, as the software has detailed information and images for thousands of coins, as well as a large listing of coin-collecting Web sites. If the database doesn't contain a listing for a coin you own, you can add your own data and images. CoinManage lets you search for an entry by keyword, and you can sort the database by parameters such as year, grade, quantity, amount paid, and current value. The new version lets you create reports in several formats, among them HTML. Though this program's very nature limits its appeal to a niche market, its intended audience will wonder how it ever got along without it.

If you have a simple collection of only coins they include in their database, it is a fairly robust program with an intuitive user interface. Allows for reasonably easy addition of coins not included in their database.

I am a collector of World Coins. I started using CoinManage but found adding each coin type/year/mint for coins not in their database not nearly as easy as they had represented when I was considering buying; it was way too time consuming. I tried to contact customer support about this and other issues many times ... always without success or satisfaction. So, once again I searched for a good program to use and found ExactChange which does most of what CoinManage does and does many things it does not do. In addition, it has an extensive database of nearly every world coin including pictures. Best of all, their support is awesome.
Summary
Every collector has unique requirements. Having a database to help keep track of a collection is wonderful. If your requirements are very limited, CoinManage may be a good choice. However, before making a decision, any serious collector should take a careful look at the alternative ExactChange offers. For my purposes, the program is much more robust and the support is incredible. So far, updates are free. They even had a little program [free] that helped convert my collection from CM to EC.

Can easily be manipulated to add currency and unusual coins (like hammered silver, Greek/Roman coinage, etc).
Easy install and updating.
Covers just about every data element you would need to inventory a coin including up to 4 images.
Many useable reporting options
Easy to port files to other computers
Cons
Wish they would add other countries like Australia and New Zealand but US, GB and Canada are covered.
Sometimes hit and miss adding coins that are atypical.
You need to be fairly comfortable with Windows, files and directories.
Summary
I have a sizable collection of US, Canadian and GB coins and of several coin database programs I have used this one is the best and very reasonably priced. Makes it easy to have my collection available when I go to shows or coin club meetings. Customer support is great.

Allows one to see all varieties of each value coin and keep track of many grades of coins and the values for each.
Can add pictures of your individual coins to be able to list for sale and track where you obtained each coin and at what cost

Slow in updating current year and recent year information in the databases. Could utilize feedback from customers to help populate information on individual coins like mintage and pictures of each individual year and mint.

I enjoy keeping track of the coins I have and have varieties in many different collections. This program allows me a systematic way of categorizing all the U.S. coins I have and being able to sort in many different ways and being to run a variety of reports that are prefabricated for me or making custom reports to give me any information I have entered within the various fields contained in each coin's data fields

This product is very easy to use and great for keeping track of your coin collection. I have the 2010 version and looking forward to upgrading to the 2013 or 2014 version

the product gives a clear system of sorting coins and is quite easy to use for this giving good information.
Cons
Wont run on windows 8. I have tried several times and it fails to completely load. Poor customer service. Have sent several e.mails and none have been replied to. Asked about windows eight problem- said they would look into it - heard nothing.

Easy to work with. Unfortunately, probably the best software on the market for it's price range.

I say UNFORTUNATELY, because the company has a good product, but they care absolutely NOTHING about their customers. I have used the program for the last three years. I have sent numerous emails to tech support.....never an answer. I sent several to info@liberty st....never an answer. They will be glad to take your $$ before you can press the enter key to order. After that, MR. Spock is probably the only one that could get anything out of them.
I won't be using the software anymore after this year, and I won't recommend them to any of my collector friends.

In short...a nice program. It is just too bad that they have no quality control or service dept.

Point and click adding of coins, nice reference pictures, easy to organize and view inventory. Helpful information regarding precious metal content and PCGS (coin grading). Able to save back-ups, features are intuitive, the program appears to be designed buy a serious collector.

Only 30 days and $49.95 to buy. I may buy it, not sure, but if it were less expensive it would be an easy "yes".
