Dual syntax coloring:
irEdit allows for syntax coloring in dual-language documents, such as JSP(Java and HTML) files, while maintaining separate background colors for each language.This allows you to see clearly the organization of complex and sometimes unfamiliar code. As a result, the you can navigate files quickly and effectively.

User-defined languages:
irEdit's language dictionary is user-defined, giving you the ability to create/modify languages at will. As languages change and new languages arrive, irEdit is never outdated.

Cocoa Native:
irEdit is written form the ground up in Cocoa and takes full advantage of all the niceties that Apple's revolutionary Aqua interface has to offer like:

• Document-modal save panels
• Semi-transparent text
• A separate "Find & Replace" panel for each window! This allows you to work efficiently.

Quick Find:
irEdit's quick find feature(Command-Option-F) allows to search on the selected text without opening the "Find" panel, allowing you to work faster.
New Features include:
* Regular expression support has now been added. You may now find & replace using regular expressions (see the documentation for examples & syntax). You may also specify a regular expression for the function pop-up feature. irEdit also features sub-expression support for both function pop-up and searching, giving you the ultimate edge in searching text.
* The ability to save search expressions has also been added.
* irEdit's replace feature now allows you to also include the result of your regular expression search in your replacement text!
* The editor window has two new buttons, "toggle text wrap" & "toggle line numbers", giving you control of wrapping and line numbers for each window.
* Additional language support. C, C++, and Ruby have been added to the standard language list.
